Stand-Alone Personal Finance Standards | Yes Kansas has adopted the National Jump$tart standards as their state standards for financial literacy. They are indicated for Kindergarten, 4th, 8th and 12 grades, however, should be referenced to determine all K-12 financial literacy instruction to determine grade appropriateness. |
Personal Finance Standards in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Family and Consumer Sciences | Yes Family and Consumer Sciences Education teaches personal financial literacy skills directly through the Consumer and Personal Finance courses available to Kansas schools. A number of Kansas schools require this course for graduation. Both the Jump$tart standards and the National Family and Consumer Sciences Standards are used to teach this course. |
