Florida’s financial literacy standards are embedded in the social studies curriculum. A new law passed in 2019, financial literacy is no longer a required part of 9-12 grade economics or economics with personal financial literacy. Districts are now required to offer a stand-alone financial literacy course for half an elective credit. The standards for this new course have yet to be determined.
