The Education, Development, Growth, and Enrichment program (EDGE) provides high quality training for consumer finance professionals, geared toward branch managers and team leaders by providing layered modules of learning. The program is run in collaboration with the Mercer University Stetson-Hatcher School of Business and offers the following management courses.
Year One courses focus on providing a sound understanding of:
- Leadership
- Time management
- Consumer lending
- Financial services law
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Communications and conflict negotiations
- Rates and profits
- Performance management
- Business ethics, and
- Opportunities for engaging with the AFSA Education Foundation
Year Two courses build off the foundational concepts from the previous year to improve participants’ knowledge and use of:
- Leadership
- Financial statements
- Competitive environment
- Employment and financial services law
- Funding strategies
- Marketing strategies
- Regulatory compliance
- Strategic planning, and
- Being a great coach
